Leslie Laine – Psychotherapy & Counselling.
I believe the psyche can be compared to a garden; if it is not tended to properly then it will become overgrown and unruly.Problems and issues, or “troubles”, can result from an overgrowth of one plant in the garden at the expense of another, or conditions were not right for some seeds to grow and they remain in the ground waiting for the right conditions. Indeed, problems and issues can be seen as the psyche’s attempt to create the right conditions for these seeds to grow.
My task as therapist is to help you get to know every corner of this garden and to become adept at being your own gardener.
This, very simply put, is what I believe all psychotherapy amounts to.
